Miley Cyrus is a Walk of Fame Star!
story by editor-in-chief: Ashly Nicole
Miley Cyrus officially has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and she’s the first person born in the 90s to receive this honor! Let’s all take in that achievement for a minute, because I don’t think I could picture anyone but Miley being the first person to get something like this, honestly.
There’s truly no one more deserving of this moment than Miley. She didn’t just grow up in the spotlight, she took charge, she reshaped how some things in the industry work, she reached global fame at the young age of 14, and did all of this while finding herself and evolving in real time while the world watched. From shaping an entire generation of fans to constantly redefining herself as an artist, she’s proven time and time again that she’s fearless, authentic, and unapologetically herself, and we love every bit of that about her.
The ceremony itself was filled with love, fellow legends, and unforgettable and iconic fashion moments. Miley was surrounded by those closest to her, including her fiancé, Maxx Morando, her sister
Brandi Cyrus, and her mother Tish Cyrus. The guest list also reflected her impact across industries, with star and close friend, Anya Taylor-Joy and fashion icon Donatella Versace honoring Miley and giving guest speeches and helping present the star to her.
Fans also showed up in a massive way for Miley, with some traveling from all over the world, including Japan, just to witness the moment in person. Some fans reported waiting 14 hours or more along the Hollywood Walk of Fame to be there, turning the ceremony into not just a celebration of her career, but a reflection of the global community she has built.
In Miley’s speech, she referenced her own song “Walk of Fame”, which ends with the lyric “you’ll live forever”, expressing, "This star somehow represents immortality, and although I love the lyric, the fact that I won’t is what creates the urgency that sets my heart on fire. What feels so special to me about this star is that it’s an accumulation of devotion. A star isn’t something that you win like a seasonal game. It’s not something that you can chase or collect. It’s not something you make the next record for. My name is laid in gold and pink terrazzo, and it’s fierce, and it’s fun, and it’s fabulous,” Miley went on to say, “And I’m in Versace hand-picked from the atelier archives by Donatella herself, which makes it even more fun, and even more fierce and even more fabulous.” She said this as she wore a Atelier Versace gown from the fall 2015 collection, and heels that were personally handpicked by Donatella herself, adding another meaningful layer to the moment.
Through every era, every reinvention, and every challenge, Miley is one of the most resilient stars of our time, and has come out stronger, more grounded, and even more creatively powerful. Her voice, her presence, and her ability to connect with people across generations is something that cannot be replicated. She did not just achieve global fame at a young age, she has sustained it, transformed it, and turned it into a legacy that continues to grow. In closing her speech, she offered the sweetest message to all of her fans, saying, “you are the stars that make my dream a reality every day for your love and support and I thank you.”
“This is where it gets me”, she expressed holding back tears, “To my family, my future family, parents, my mom, my siblings, my friends, my collaborators, thank you for loving and supporting not only the choices that I make, but my fears, and then facing them with me. Today is something that I’ll never forget and I'm always going to cherish. I love you all so much, thank you.”
This star is not just a milestone, it is a reflection of everything she has built and everything she still has ahead of her, and her legacy that will continue to live on through many more generations after her.
