All Aboard “The Subway”! Chappell Roan’s Long-Awaited Single Has Finally Arrived 🚇💋
After over a year of fan anticipation, pop’s reigning midwest princess and drag queen, Chappell Roan has officially released her much-hyped single, “The Subway”, and yes, it’s absolutely everything we could have ever hoped for. First performed during her show-stopping set at Gov Ball 2024, where she took the stage painted head-to-toe as Lady Liberty herself, “The Subway” quickly became a fan favorite despite never having a studio release…until now!

In a heartfelt post shared today, Chappell reflected on the song’s journey:
“I’m very proud of this song & what a journey she has been on. I first played it at gov ball when I was painted green as lady liberty and in the past have played new songs live to feel them out. Obviously not knowing this really chaotic year would follow the performance, it didn’t really leave me the time to build the world the song deserved. But finally we are here. I def ripped my hair out trying to figure out the puzzle of how this song should feel musically and visually and emotionally, luckily there are some to spare. Thank you for sticking it out for a whole year. It was worth it to make sure everything was absolutely right.” and Chappell, it was worth the wait.

Along with the single drop, fans can also now pre-order a physical 7” vinyl version of “The Subway” from her merch store; because OBVIOUSLY this track deserves a spot in your ever growing vinyl collection. But that’s not all. The official music video is set to premiere tomorrow, August 1, and if her post is any indication (hello, hair?!), we’re in for a full Chappell-style visual feast. We’re talking HAIR, drama, emotion, the holy trinity.
To top it all off, Chappell is treating fans to a surprise round of pop-up performances in three cities this fall, with a short list of shows just announced. Tickets have already begun to go on sale, and measures have been taken to make sure true fans get first dibs, and kept out of the hands of resellers.

Between new music, visuals, vinyl (and hopefully more merch), and live shows, it’s safe to say: Chappell Roan season is back in full swing and better than ever.
